Why do I need solar panel cleaning services?

Solar panels are purchased and installed with the understanding that although the initial costs of the investment are steep, the future savings are well worth the initial cost. Won’t rain clean my panels?

Rain will provide a minimal rinse that only removes loose dirt or dust, it will not remove the debris that has been baked on the panels from the heat. To paint a better picture, imagine not washing your car’s windshield for 6 months. It only takes a few weeks for a car’s windshield to get a substantial layer of dirt on it.  The minimal dirt moved by the rain often accumulates at the bottom edge of the panel as well resulting in significant heating. Within a string of photovoltaic cells in a panel, if one cell is shaded the others will force current through it, which results in the cell heating up and will cause a decrease in solar output. Not only is energy production lessened, but the lifespan of the panels decreases as well. 

What exactly is de-ionized water and why is it used for cleaning panels?
